Explore San Antonio

We know you'll also enjoy San Antonio—a city like no other—featuring a land of epic battles, flowing rivers and a flourishing culture. From the stones of the Alamo and the meandering paths of the River Walk to Sea World San Antonio and Six Flags Fiesta Texas, San Antonio takes you on a journey through a land as grand as its reputation.

The San Antonio River is the heart of the country's oldest and most extensive Spanish-colonial water system, having supplied water for the construction of San Antonio's five historic missions. Today, the river still winds its way through the city, defining neighborhoods and offering a landscape of beauty and tranquility to behold from its shady banks. In the city center, the River Walk, or Paseo del Rio, is made up of cobbled walkways, bridges, cafés, shops, restaurants and bars along the river's edge. Its three miles of pathways are a full level below city streets, creating the ambiance of a secluded oasis.

McNay Art Museum established as the first museum of modern art in Texas, the museum is renowned for its collection of 19th- and 20th-century European and American art displayed in a gorgeous Mediterranean villa and courtyard.

San Antonio Museum of Art houses the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Latin American Art, the most comprehensive collection of Latin American art in the country. Its collection of Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities, European and American paintings, and Asian and contemporary art is the most extensive in the region.

Golf

If you are looking for rewarding play and unique destination courses, then tee it up on some of the most coveted courses in Texas, including two PGA TOUR courses at the new JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa.

These courses only add to San Antonio's already impressive collection of golf options that include Championship courses at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa and the Westin La Cantera Resort and historic greens like the A.W. Tillinghast designed Brackenridge Park Course.
