Green building model contracts available
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Consensus DOCS have released new model contract documents explaining the responsibilities of those involved in a green building project. The AIA document is an updated version of an earlier amendment to its model owner-architect contract and outlines the responsibilities and risks associated with LEED certification. The AIA document can be purchased from the association's Web site by clicking here. ConsensusDOCS has created a green building document to be used with its other contracts and explains the roles and responsibilities of all members of a design team. This document advises that a green building facilitator, who can be someone involved in the project, be part of the design team. Click here to purchase the ConsensusDOCS document.
